Hibernate or Exercise…what will you do?

Monday, September 28th, 2009 | cybex, hoist, life fitness, Life Fitness Gym Equipment, Nordic Trac, precor, star trac fitness, Treadclimber with No Comments »

The weather is starting to get colder which means that exercising outside becomes less intriguing as each day passes. Who wants to run outside at night in Cleveland, Detroit, New York, or anywhere that is cold for that matter. This is why treadmills, ellipticals and other home gym equipment was invented. These days it is easier than ever to purchase quality fitness equipment for your home, making stay in shape possible, even if your window of opportunity to exercise each day shuts as new things come up into our schedules un-announced. When you have fitness equipment at home, you do not have to carve 2 hours out of your day for going to the gym, showering, sitting in traffic, so on and so forth.

NFL and NCAA Foottball

Thursday, September 24th, 2009 | eliptical, Sleep and Fitness, sports equipment, Treadmill, Ways to Beat Stress, Weight Loss Tips with No Comments »

If you are not really juiced up for this years NFL and NCAA Football seasons then there is something wrong with you! These guys are such great athletes and we take great pride in supplying them with the best fitness equipment known to man. If you want to find out how structurally sound an Elliptical Cross Trainer is, then put a 6’5, 310 lb. middle line-backer on it and if the fitness equipment remains quiet while in use, and does not rock back and forth, well, then you have found yourself a winner! Big, strong and sometimes fat people are really the best way to determine the strength and quality of gym equipment.

edit: Side note, if your name is Julie, and you are 5’5 and 130 lbs., it does not matter if the piece of cardio fitness equipment you are looking for can support the weight of a Giant, it just matters wheter or not the exercise bike, fitness stepper, home gym, treadmill, or elliptical is comfortable for you.  That is not to say that you should not be concerned over the structural integrity of the exercise equipment that you may potentially purchase, we are just saying the mechanical capacity (user weight capacity), is of no importance to you. Sports equipment and gym machinery will always support at least 150lbs, unless specified otherwise.

However,  most of the people that call the Kings of Cardio, are not small and skinny, in fact, for the most part, they are big and heavy. In order for exercise equipment and gym gear to work safe and effectively, it must be sturdy enough to withstand continuous usage over time by people of all shapes and sizes. For these two reasons, we make sure that we provide our customers with the highest quality fitness equipment on earth and in return they love us for it! We hope…

Big Fight This Weekend – Mayweather vs. Marquez

Thursday, September 17th, 2009 | exercise fitness, proform, Sleep and Fitness, sports equipment, Treadmill, Weight Loss Tips, Weight Training with No Comments »

For those of you unfamiliar with professional boxing, there is a HUGE match this weekend, on 9/19, this Saturday night. The United States best pound for pound fighter, Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather, faces off against Mexican living legend Juan Marquez, in what most expect to be a lopsided bout. This sentiment is reflected by the current Las Vegas odds which make Mayweather a 4.3:1 favorite, meaning that in order to earn $1 off of betting on Mayweather to win, you must bet $4.30. We here at Kings of Cardio would love to hear who everyone likes and why!

What is very interesting about this fight is the great physical condition both fighters are in and HBO documented their training every step of the way. Their cardio routines are insane. They are not running on treadmills, they are running up mountains, and do not rest. In order to be the best you can’t just go to the gym and use the Life Fitness 95Xi for 20 minutes and then leave. That will not have you lookng like the Floyd Mayweathers and other great athletes of the world.  However, if you have a comprehensive home gym, including treadmills, ellipticalls, rowing machines and free weight equipment, then you will halfway there. The other half will be whether or not you actually use the home gym equipment. So many people buy a Life Fitness treadmill or Precor elliptical and they end up only using them as coat hangers!

Do Not Waste Time w/ Gimmicky and Cheap Gym Gear

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 | fitness, fitness equipment, fitness equipment repair, Guidelines to Buying Treadmill and Home Gym Equipment with No Comments »

Every night while watching TV, I see so many ridiculously horrible advertisements for cheap fitness equipment, and it boggles my mind why anyone would ever buy such low-end, flimsy weight or cardio equipment. For example, we have all seen the heavy-duty stair climbers spread across gym floors nationwide, and they all are as tall, or taller than we are, on average that is. In order for the fitness equipment at gyms to be effective, and durable, they must have some weight to them, to prevent instability and ensure safety. However, lately I have seen several cheap, small, and lousy looking stair steppers that according to the infomercials pushing them, are the best thing since sliced bread. Nothing could be further from the truth. In almost every case what looks to good to be true is. Unfortunately, a piece of gym equipment, whether cardio or strength based, can’t be replicated by a company producing “similar” pieces of fitness equipment for 95% less. That is impossible, but not according to these infomercials, which is the reasoning behing us taking the time to write this blog and make potential buyers of exercise equipment all over the world aware so they don’t get ripped of by some 3rd tier home gym supplier.

What Is Your Favorite Brand of Fitness Equipment?

Monday, September 14th, 2009 | Exercise Program, fat burning, muscle building with No Comments »

The Kings of Cardio are surveying the American public in order to find out which manufacturer produces the highest quality fitness equipment. It is very simple, which pieces of fitness equipmet are your favorites, and why? Our staff is comprised of professionals from across the world that specialize in health and fitness. We are very interested in what are the most popular pieces of exercise equipment in the fitness industry today. Recently, treadmill sales have been eclipsed by elliptical sales, so we are guessing that the majority of responses will be geared towards, and favoring, elliptical cross-trainers over treadmills, exercise bikes, and other forms of fitness equipment. Keep in mind that elliptical cross trainers provides users with the same cardio benefits of treadmills, but ellipticals do not beat up your knees, ankles, and hips like treads. For that reason, ellipticals are now more popular than treadmills, for the first time ever.

Meanwhile…the San Diego Super Chargers are on TV and playing against the once mighty Oakland Raiders. These guys are in amazing shape! Their stamina and endurance is phenomenal to say the least. Back in the day, offensive and defensive lineman were pretty heavy and now they all have 6-Packs! How times have changed…. the NFl today has defensive ends who run 4.3 40yd. dashes! That is insane. I wonder what speed they use when they exercise on treadmills and other fitness equipment. On the sidelines of the games, exercise bikes are the most popular pieces of cardio fitness gym equipment and stationary upright bikes are used by players to reduce cramping.

What a great game, these guys could run forever, they do not get tired. If only all American’s had to go through such grueling physical training as professional foorball players in the NFL, our country would not be so fat and overweight, while our health problems would be reduced drastically. The reason the Unites States of America has so many unhealthy people is because we do not exercise enough. It is plain and simple, what you put in, is what you get out. If you spend all of your free time eating, drinking and relaxing, then your body will reflect that. Your confidence and physical appearance with deteriorate faster than Bear Stearns. So please do your part and exercise for at least 30 minutes per day. Your health and happiness are counting on you!

Exercise Equipment

Sunday, September 13th, 2009 | Abdomial Exercise - Stomach Workout, Diabetes & Health, eliptical, Guidelines to Buying Treadmill and Home Gym Equipment, Sleep and Fitness, sports equipment with No Comments »

The recent increase in the amount of people in the United States that purchase fitness equipment for their home is a good sign. Are we finally realizing that happiness is attained through gym equipment rather than designer clothes? We here at Kings of Cardio sure hope so!

Recently in the news, there has been even more coverage focused around heathcare, than the average daily dosage. It is well known that the U.S.A. is the only first world nation on the planet that does not offer a comprehensive, universal healthcare system. The counter argument to that is something in the realm of “well that’s why we have the best doctors.” That argument is flawed to say the least. Our nation is not even in the top 10 when it comes to highest life expectancy rates! Why? One reason is that 9/10 people would be clueless if you asked them what an elliptical is, or what a stair climber is, or what their favorite piece of fitness equipment is. Home gym equipment, gym equipment, sports equipment, or weight equipment is foreign to most people.

Let us give you some advice, if you spend more time eating every day, then you do exercising, then you will be unhealthy and you will not have the rock hard body that you would like to have.  Using gym equipment should not be as difficult as math. Your daily exercise routiner should not have the same level of intensity as one of your study sessions. So get up, get out and get something. Don’t just waste your time away like a fat ass sitting on the couch all day and waiting for something good to happen. You must make it happen through staying true to your fitness routine. Daily exercise, along with personalized fitness goals, will enable you to look and feel like you really want to. How many times in your life have you looked in the mirror and told yourself that you are going to start exercising in some form or another? Aren’t you tired of always just hoping and wishing? Isn’t it time to get something done? Even if you have not done any cardio or strength training in the last 10 years, you can still get in shape. You do not have to start of by running on the treadmill for 2 hours everyday at top notch speeds on the “interval training” propgram. The great thing about exercising is that you are your own boss. If you have not worked out in a very long time, then just get on the treadmill for like 10 minutes and walk at low speeds. Do this everyday until you feel comfortable picking up the pace. The key is to walk a little bit longer and start moving a little bit faster as you progress in your workouts.

Sports Equipment & Gym Gear

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 | elliptical, exercise, exercise bike, exercise fitness, fitness, sports equipment, weight equipment with No Comments »

Are you looking for sports equipment? If so, you have come to the right home fitness store! When is the last time your fitness equipment broke down? If you are like most people, then your exercise equipment and other sports equipment has had many service issues, and the home gym supplier that you purchased from, has done little to help.

The Kings of Cardio set ourselves apart from the rest of the fitness business by actually taking care of our customers. When you call and inquire about exercise equipment, we do not like to just give you a quick price, and then make the sale. Our fitness experts go the extra mile and pay attention to detail more than your standard sales rep just trying to get in your pocket! Whether you are looking for a treadmill, elliptical, an exercise bike, rowing machine, or other “fitness” equipment, our friendly staff full of friendly and informative personal trainers and fitness experts would take great pride in helping you chose the right piece of hoem fitness equipemnt for you!

Speaking of “Sports Equipment”, I was recently involved in an argument with a group of friends over which sport was more dangerous, Rugby or Football? I personally believe, and basically know for a fact, that American Football is much tougher on the body and causes more injuries than Rugby. Those sports fanatics that argue the other side, base their flawed argument on the fact that SPORTS EQUIPMENT is used in American Football and their is no SPORTS EQUIPMENT in Rugby! W A T ?????? That arguement makes zero sense.

The arguement that Rugby is more dangerous because they do not use sports equipment such as football helmets, shoulder pads and so on, is wrong for several reasons. First of all the flow of the game itself, American football that is, is sooooooo much faster than Rugby. The speed difference is extrememly relevant because when players move faster in Sports, whether or not they are using sports equipemnt, they are prone to more injury than if they were moving at slower speeds. For Example, if two cars collide and they are each moving at 10 miles and hour, there will not be nearly as much of an impact as there would be if they were moving at 50 miles per hour. For those of you who do not think the speed differential between American Football players and Rugby players is equal to that of the example mentioned above, then you are right. The speed difference is much greater! Football players are that much faster than rugby players that whether or not they are wearing sports equipment or not is irrelevant.

If you are looking for Precor, Life Fitness, Star Trac, Kettler, BodyCraft, Cybex, BodySolid, Hoist, First Degree Fitness, or any other brand of fitness or weight equipement, then look no further. You have arrived at the promise land! Call 800-990-1108 right now for more exercise equipment and fitness info! Talk to you soon….

Labor Day

Monday, September 7th, 2009 | 10 Tips on Buying Fitness Equipment, Sleep and Fitness, Treadmill with No Comments »

Labor Day is here and hopefully you are not just getting fatter by the second and drinking lots of beer while you eat ribs and inhale greasy cheeseburgers. If you are one of those unfortunate souls, then you must exercise later so you can burn of some of the 10,000 calories you injested within the past hour. Seriously, are we just the fattest, groset nation on God’s green earth? I sometimes wonder if people do not have mirrors? Maybe they just do not have any self control or disciple at all. Let me tell you something and make it crystal clear, every single day of your life you either get better or you get worse. There is absolutely no in-between. Unfortunately, some people are sick/disabled/handicapped/unable to perform and therefore they can not control their own destiny. But for all of you who are in good enough health to exercise, have 2 arms and two legs, be ashamed of yourself if you are fat and overweight. Seriously ashamed, to say the absolute least. Is it that difficult to workout once every other day, or not eat 5 servings instead of 2? If your answer to that question is yes, than we feel for you, and you need to call us right away so you don’t waste your life sitting around liek a fat ass!

Floyd Mayweather Training Techniques on HBO’s 24/7

Sunday, September 6th, 2009 | high intensity interval training with No Comments »

Last night we watched “24/7″, an HBO documentary based on the lives of two boxers and their daily training routines, as they prepare for a huge fight. HBO strarted this series several years ago when Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather fought Oscar De La Hoya on Cinco De Mayo, 2007. In an attempt to promote the fight, and gain more PPV (pay per view) revenue, HBO created “24/7″. Well, as usual, HBO’s plan worked and their show turned out to be a smash. Hard core boxing fans and regular TV viewers from across the world loved the show and its unique inside look intot he complex lives and training methods of two world class fighters.

The latest installments of “24/7″  are centered on the upcoming Mayweather vs. Marquez fight, and I have to say that Juan Manuel Marquez takes training to levels far beyond ones imagination. Its latest episode begins with Juan Marquez running up and down volcanic mountains while picking up huge rocks and throwing them, which looked grueling, but was dwarfed and forgotten by what Marquez did next…

Once with his workout, at the bottom of the mountain, to replenish himself, Marquez drank fresh limeade and then for protein, he ate 25 quail eggs, raw. If eating 25 raw quail eggs is not the ultimate act of self disclipine, due tot he fact that it tastes horrible, but has lots of proteins, then what is? I’ll tell you what lengths this dedicated athlete went to in order to intake as many fluids, nutriens and proteins as possible. He drank his own urine! This is no exageration and if you have HBO you can watch it for yourself! Juan Manuel Marquez drank his own urine and said that he does so in order to gain an advantage on his opponent. Most boxers would run an hour or so extra on their treadmill, not go to the extremes than Juan Marquez does.

5/1/12 UPDATE – Marquez does not drink his own urine anymore and says that his new trainer was against it.
