Fitness Routine: Fitness Routines should detail different workouts for each day of the week. Fitness routines need to be closely adhered to in order for the person using the fitness routine to maximize his or her results. Human body parts get worn down and stressed if they are exercised too heavily and often, therefore, it is necessary to give your muscles a rest while exercising other muscles that are not as sore. Dismantling your exercise routine into several different workouts to be performed during the week is a fantastic way to approach exercising and fitness. Exercising your biceps, triceps, forearm and other muscles in your arms can be your fitness routine on Monday. Tuesday can be a day for your thighs, quadriceps, calf muscles, and other muscles in your lower body. My personal fitness routine leaves Wednesday as a day for rest so I will do the same as we continue this example. Thursday is a perfect day to get back to work and hit the bench press. Along with bench pressing, there are approximately seven or eight other exercises I will do for my chest on this day. Incline and decline chest presses are awesome ways to add some spice to your fitness routine and really carve up your chest muscles. Push-ups are a must for anyone serious about having a day of their fitness routine dedicated to the pectoralis muscles. Dips and peck deck flyes are other great additions to any chest workout. Our fitness routine comes to an end on Friday, which is a day focused on strengthening the back and its multitude of muscles. As we get older, having a flexible and strong back is crucial for maintaining our ability to compete athletically in the form of basketball, tennis, golf or baseball. Seated rows, lat pull downs, dips, pull-ups, chin-ups, and shrugs are just some of the exercises that can be done to strengthen ones back. So for a quick recap of how my fitness routine breaks down, we have worked out our arms (biceps / triceps / forearms) on Monday. On Tuesday we hit our lower body. Calf raises, squats, leg curls, leg extensions and dead lifts are all part of our healthy fitness routine on Tuesday. Wednesday is a day for rest. Thursday is when I focus on my chest through a variety of challenging chest exercises which include the bench press, incline press, decline press, cable crossover and dumbbell flys. Lastly, Friday will be used as a day centered around working out the back muscles.

Always make sure you are adding at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise during each one of your workouts. Fitness routines need to have cardio and strength training programs. Half an hour of cardio can be performed on a rowing machine, treadmill, elliptical, exercise bike or stair stepper. My personal favorites are the Life Fitness 95Ti Treadmill, StairMaster 916 Stair Stepper, the Life Fitness 95Ce Exercise Bike and the Precor EFX 556 CrossTrainer. Any of those health club quality pieces of gym equipment would be great for cardio training. Premium strength training equipment such as leg presses, bench presses, lat pulls and other various weight lifting equipment is easy to come by. There isn’t much difference between 45 pound plates. No matter who makes them. However, the complete opposite is true for cardio equipment. One must be careful when purchasing cardio equipment such as treadmills, stationary exercise bikes, stair steppers, elliptical and cross-training machines. The electronic components of the fitness equipment just mentioned make cardio equipment such as treadmills and ellipticals more difficult to create than dumbbells, bench presses and curl bars.

Make your New Years resolution health oriented. Popular resolutions include stop smoking, drink less, get a better job, take a trip, manage debt and get fit. Getting fit and losing weight are easier said than done. One must not become frustrated due to the difficulties associated with maintaining an effective exercise program. High energy levels will need to be sustained for at least thirty minutes a day and time must be made for physical activity. Cutting corners will not work for those who want to lose weight and build muscle. Striving for protection and giving it your all, is the way to becoming fit. If you have the will and determination to see the world through the eyes of a healthy and fit physique, then now is the time to start your quest towards optimal health.

There is no better time than now to start losing weight, building muscle and increasing your confidence. January 1st, 2011, what a great time to start working out and exercising. If it is too cold to run outside where you live, then buy a treadmill or an elliptical, and workout in the comfort of your own home. What shows the true spirit of the holidays better than buying a brand new treadmill for a friend, loved one, or even yourself. Who wouldn’t want a brand new elliptical machine under their Christmas tree? Fitness equipment is just such a great gift for the holidays. Giving someone a Life Fitness 95c Engage exercise bike shows then that you care about their health and fitness, rather than their wardrobe. Peak a new interest in a friend that could use some exercise and fitness in their life. Be a stickler and make sure your friends and loved ones understand the subjects of health and fitness. Show your sister who is over weight, say “See, this is a treadmill! This will be your new best friend. You know why? Because this treadmill is going to help you lose 30 pounds. Lets get started now.”

Having a natural gift for leadership isn’t everyones forte, however, if you truly care for a friend or family member who is unhealthy and overweight, you must show them the light. Explain to them the benefits of daily exercise. You do not have to be a master psychologist, in order to convey the importance of exercise to someone who is overweight. Get your point across and be a motivator for the holidays. Don’t just buy your brother a new TV, buy him a treadmill with a TV in it (Life Fitness 97T Engage). More often than not, a combination of tough love and motivational leadership is needed in order to show overweight people the recipe for getting fit. Uncompromising work ethics are not commonplace, especially amongst the overweight, therefore, have a positive influence on a friend of family member that is overweight and unhealthy. Buy them a treadmill and help them devise a workout plan. Go shopping with them for home fitness equipment. Quality treadmill brands include Precor, Life Fitness and Star Trac.

If you can, explain the different programs on the treadmill. Provide insight on how the statistical feedback can be an awesome tool for anyone who uses a treadmill, or other cardio equipment such as elliptical machines, stationary exercise bikes, rowers and stair steppers. For example, the heart rate readouts on cardio equipment are insightful tools that help us determine how fast we should be running. Premium treadmills and ellipticals have interactive heart rate functions that will allow its users to speed up or slow down their pace, based off of the target heart rate zone set in place by the user. for example, if Tom were to set his target heart rate zone to 145bpm, and his heart rate increased to 165bpm, the speed of the treadmill would slow down and vice versa.

Let’s not forget that there is no way to lose weight and build muscle without putting in the work. So many people look for a magical cure when it comes to getting in shape. There are lots of ways to lose weight so why not do it the right way with safe and proven methods. There are exercise and meal plans out that if followed strictly, are almost sure to work. For those of you who actually put in the necessary time and energy when it comes to working out, congratulations and good for you. Keep grinding it out on the treadmill and make sure you stick to your goals. Also, elliptical trainers, Precor, Life Fitness and Star Trac, are all great for getting your heart rate up and your blood pumping. Elliptical training machines have been labeled as being much more user friendly in the sense that they protect the joints and bones of the users much more than treadmills do.

As someone who has to work at a computer for long hours (I’m a writer) I really have to make sure I don’t get a lot of problems that come with sitting and typing. First, I sit on a fitness ball, which is great for the core muscles. Then, every hour I do some back stretches. (You should ask a professional which ones are best for you, but what works best for me is clasping my hands together in front of me and pulling them forward as far as I can for the count of ten, then clasping them behind my back and doing the same kind of thing. But what’s really important is making sure I don’t get blood clots in my legs, and that’s where my stairmaster comes in. Nothing beats it for working my legs. Fifteen minutes before I write, a half hour after, at least. People die from blot clots (deep thrombosis) and I don’t want my job to kill me. I love writing, but I love living, too!

With that said, really nice home gym equipment helps me stay motivated. If you can get excited about exercising and actually want to add muscle and look better, then you will. Being healthy starts with your mindset. It is hard to get a great run in on a treadmill by just hoping on it one day and hoping for the best. No. That will not work. Make the treadmill, or whatever fitness equipment you use your friend. Make it your best friend. In order to truly look and feel great you need to always maintain a positive mindset and really like what you are doing and that will happen if you really like your fitness equipment.

Just wanted to let everybody know that I am now running up to 45 minutes a day on my Life Fitness 95ti treadmill. As part of my plan to lose 22 pounds, I purchased an elliptical and treadmill for cardio, along with a home gym for my strength workout. When I run on my treadmill, I use the interactive heart rate programming, in order to burn the maximum amount of calories possible. Getting the most out of each and every workout is a must for those of you trying to lose a bunch of weight. Just doing a light jog and some sit-ups is not going to cut the layers of fat off like running on a tredmill or an elliptical for at least 45 minutes a day.

When you want to lose weight, you have to have an exercise program, follow it closely, and you must not deviate from that routine. Losing weight and gaining muscle is not easy. Getting in shape through physical training can be brutal and frustrating, but let us remind you, you must not deviate from your plan to get healthy. Find a treadmill to run on. Go to the local gym to get some extra reps in. Jog up to the track at the school around the corner from your house. Whatever it is that you have to do in order to get rid of that extra fat around your hips and stomach, do it.

With the expandiny variety of national health club facilities, all of which have the best treadmills, ellipticals and other gym equipment, it has become easier than ever to exercise. It’s hard to come up with excuses to not exercise. Even if you are extremely busy, do you really not have the time to run on a treadmill at home, get some strides in on the elliptical?

hi matt! My road to physical fitness has been a bumpy one to say the least. Liife after finishing my college football career consisted of a sedentary work routine and an unhealthy weight gain to over 350 lbs. My big frame suited me well in the football gridiron but as time went on I could see my physique change into something I was becoming increasingly unhappy with. I could always motivate myself to join a gym and work out for a couple of weeks. Eventually I realized working out on a treadmill with random people around me watching me sweat like a hog just wasnt my cup of tea. The constant pounding on my joints and the twenty minute drive to the gym left me between a rock and a hard place. Allowing my gym membership to lapse for several months along with my body created a situation that badly needed a remedy. It was random chance that I came across your website and initially I was skeptical about making a purchase. But after speaking on the phone I realized my health is of paramount importance. I decided on a precor crosstrainer that doesnt adversely affect my knees at all…and on top of that the quality of the machine is superior than those at the gym that I was paying far too much money for every month.

I have lost nearly forty pounds, my energy is leaps and bounds above my previous self, I save TONS of time not driving to the gym. My outlook on life and overall mood is fantastic. I want to express my gratitude for helping me create a new possibility of the physical fitness in my life and I would highly recommend that anyone who wants the same please dont wait your health is worth it!!

Thanks, John
