Making the Most of your Workouts!

For the past 2 months I have been doing a workout which has been great, I have already seen amazing results. I had gotten out of my workout because I was to busy working and making other excuses, I no longer had a ton of time to go to the gym so for a few months I was working out once… maybe 2 times a week if I was lucky. After a few months of this routine, I started to notice how out of shape I was getting and my energy level was way down. Due to the fact that I stopped exercising as much and had basically given up on my cardio and strength routines, I started to feel pretty lousy. So I made a commitment to get back in shape. Since the gym took up so much time and I didn’t want to fall back into old habits of making excuses, I decided the first step would be to buy a piece of Cardio equipment for the house. This decision was due mostly in part to the fact that it will be much easier to work out whenever I want, instead of having to go to the gym, sit in traffic, hope someone isn’t on the equipment I am on, and most of the time, when I am really excitied and decide to go to the gym, after sitting on my but in the car for the whole ride there, Im not even pumped up any more by the time I walk in the gym! After much debate and some research I found The Kings Of Cardio, Scott was the fitness expert I dealt with there and he went above and beyond to help me find something that would motivate me to get up every day and use it. We decided on a Cross Trainer made by Ketler The Alpine Trainer is what its called. Along with that, my fitness expert put 30 min calisthenics workout plan together which I have been doing after my cardio. That keeps my muscles, tendons and joints warm and loose…… So now its been 2 months and I have to say I have never felt better. So if anyone is curious, here is a typical day for me as far as working out and eating goes..Wake Up 6:30 am Make coffee and head downstairs to work out… Ten Minutes of stretching 6:45 am to 7:30….Then, Eliptical workout 7:30 to 8:00. When that is over, 4 sets Lunges on both legs 20 total is next. Followed by, 4 sets of squats 15 per set, 4 sets of pull ups, 4 sets of dips 15 per set, 4 sets of push ups 15 per set, 2 sets crunches 20 per set 2 sets leg lifts 20 per set. And that’s that!!!!! This may sound like a lot but it only takes half and hour and there are no weights involved. In the beginning just do what you can do, you will work up as you go. Success is a journey, not a destination. Remember that. One thing that Scott emphasized to me, over and over, which he said the owner taught him, is that Winners don’t quit, and quitters dont win. So yeah, it may look like a lot of physical training and exercise, but its well worth it, and you get out what you put in. As far as eating goes I have been making smoothies in the morning with bananas blueberry’s strawberry’s, soy milk and granola. As far as the rest of the day goes I try to eat as healthy as possible for lunch i will usually have a salad with grilled chicken and for dinner I try to stick with fish or chicken and fruits and vegetables. One of the keys for me has been not to stick to some sticked diet you have to live a little bit or what your doing won’t last, so I just try to stay healthy without depriving myself of the things I like. So I hope this is helpful to someone it sure was for me. Jimmy Weis..

Exercise Equipment

Sunday, September 13th, 2009 | Abdomial Exercise - Stomach Workout, Diabetes & Health, eliptical, Guidelines to Buying Treadmill and Home Gym Equipment, Sleep and Fitness, sports equipment with No Comments »

The recent increase in the amount of people in the United States that purchase fitness equipment for their home is a good sign. Are we finally realizing that happiness is attained through gym equipment rather than designer clothes? We here at Kings of Cardio sure hope so!

Recently in the news, there has been even more coverage focused around heathcare, than the average daily dosage. It is well known that the U.S.A. is the only first world nation on the planet that does not offer a comprehensive, universal healthcare system. The counter argument to that is something in the realm of “well that’s why we have the best doctors.” That argument is flawed to say the least. Our nation is not even in the top 10 when it comes to highest life expectancy rates! Why? One reason is that 9/10 people would be clueless if you asked them what an elliptical is, or what a stair climber is, or what their favorite piece of fitness equipment is. Home gym equipment, gym equipment, sports equipment, or weight equipment is foreign to most people.

Let us give you some advice, if you spend more time eating every day, then you do exercising, then you will be unhealthy and you will not have the rock hard body that you would like to have.  Using gym equipment should not be as difficult as math. Your daily exercise routiner should not have the same level of intensity as one of your study sessions. So get up, get out and get something. Don’t just waste your time away like a fat ass sitting on the couch all day and waiting for something good to happen. You must make it happen through staying true to your fitness routine. Daily exercise, along with personalized fitness goals, will enable you to look and feel like you really want to. How many times in your life have you looked in the mirror and told yourself that you are going to start exercising in some form or another? Aren’t you tired of always just hoping and wishing? Isn’t it time to get something done? Even if you have not done any cardio or strength training in the last 10 years, you can still get in shape. You do not have to start of by running on the treadmill for 2 hours everyday at top notch speeds on the “interval training” propgram. The great thing about exercising is that you are your own boss. If you have not worked out in a very long time, then just get on the treadmill for like 10 minutes and walk at low speeds. Do this everyday until you feel comfortable picking up the pace. The key is to walk a little bit longer and start moving a little bit faster as you progress in your workouts.

Labor Day

Monday, September 7th, 2009 | 10 Tips on Buying Fitness Equipment, Sleep and Fitness, Treadmill with No Comments »

Labor Day is here and hopefully you are not just getting fatter by the second and drinking lots of beer while you eat ribs and inhale greasy cheeseburgers. If you are one of those unfortunate souls, then you must exercise later so you can burn of some of the 10,000 calories you injested within the past hour. Seriously, are we just the fattest, groset nation on God’s green earth? I sometimes wonder if people do not have mirrors? Maybe they just do not have any self control or disciple at all. Let me tell you something and make it crystal clear, every single day of your life you either get better or you get worse. There is absolutely no in-between. Unfortunately, some people are sick/disabled/handicapped/unable to perform and therefore they can not control their own destiny. But for all of you who are in good enough health to exercise, have 2 arms and two legs, be ashamed of yourself if you are fat and overweight. Seriously ashamed, to say the absolute least. Is it that difficult to workout once every other day, or not eat 5 servings instead of 2? If your answer to that question is yes, than we feel for you, and you need to call us right away so you don’t waste your life sitting around liek a fat ass!
