Precor EFX 556 – Such a Classic! But Not Natural?

Thursday, July 7th, 2011 | consumer best crosstrainer, precor 556, Precor EFX 546 with Comments Off

After spending a good amount of time this morning on the timeless and ubiquitous Precor EFX 556, I just wanted to jot down some notes. First of all, although the bio-mechanical movements of the EFX 556 are very fluid, gentle and comfortable, the bio-mechanical movements and running motions are unlike my natural running motion. Precor fans like the way the EFX series machines glide, but I don’t think they actually feel like the Precor elliptical’s duplicate their natural running motions? Precor crosstrainers are a family of their own, as their stride length feels like any other I have ever felt. Precor’s 556 crosstrainer feels like it targets my thighs and quads so well. I love it. Its just so simple to use. I love basic stuff that works well. The 556 just has such a simple electronic and structural foundation. It has 20 resistance levels, 6 pre-programmed workout courses, WHICH ARE ALL EASY TO USE, and the angle of the ramp is super easy to adjust. This machine works as well as any elliptical I have ever used from an electronic and mechanical point of view, however, as I said earlier, the stride motion and length do not mimic my natural stride.

Trip Report for Las Vegas, NV: The Venetian gets an “A+” for Fitness Center

Thursday, July 7th, 2011 | Life Fitness 95Ti, precor 556, Precor EFX 546, Venetian casino fitness center with Comments Off

After waking up far too early this morning, I decided to go and do my best to work off the pounds of garbage I have consumed since arriving in Las Vegas only two days ago. My poor stomach has had to digest bacon and cheddar fries, double cheeseburgers from Bob’s Big Boy, sour gummy bears from the mini-bar, cups of sugar mixed with coffee and Cheetos. But as the Kings of Cardio always say, after eating going on a junk-food binge, just make sure you get back to work the next day. Work it out. Ok, so where were we? Oh yeah, the fitness center at the Venetian. Well, once I woke up and started my trek towards the gym at the Venetian, I was curious as to what I was going to find. I wondered….will it be super standard with rows of Precor EFX 556 Crosstrainers? Am I going to find over a dozen Life Fitness 95Ti treadmills? Although the two pieces of fitness equipment just mentioned are both classic, I had hoped that the Venetian, being that it is supposed to be a stylish Las Vegas Casino, would actually have some new, fresh fitness equipment, rather than your standard lines of Precor EFX Series Crosstrainers and Life Fitness treadmills.

The first thing I saw when I walked in the gym, was the massive StairMaster 7000 PTs and StairMaster 916 step mills. With the 8 foot high TV on a stand placed in front of each 7000PT and 916, it is no wonder why those stair climbers were the first to catch my eye. It seems as if the StairMaster’s themselves are approximately seven feet tall, so the combination of its size, along with the entertainment screen behind it, make them seem statuesque and monumental when you first walk in the gym. So…so far, so good. The 7000PTs are old, but the 916′s are sweet. For those who are unaware of what the difference between the SM 7000PT and SM 916 is, the 916 is a newer, more cosmetically appealing version of the StairMaster 7000PT stepmill.

The next thing I noticed were these Technogym treadmills. These were some sweeeeeeeet treads! The entire screen was heat censored and there were no physical buttons on screen. What really impressed me about its technology, was the fact that all of its controls were very fast. Life Fitness makes a treadmill that has a similar screen called the Life Fitness 95T Engage and it has a touch screen as well. Let me tell you, the expediency of the electronic reactions on the Technogym were at least five times faster than the LF 95T Engage. Channel surfing on the Technogym is just so quick and easy. One awesome feature held by the Technogym but not 95T Engage is the TV channel guide on the Technogym treamill. It is so easy to scroll through and responds instantly upon touch, making it very user friendly.

Then, the best part of the gym visit came, when I introduced myself to the weight equipment! Woooohhhhoooooooooo! The weight equipment, from the free weights to the multi-station assisted machines, was absolutely first class. Life Fitness Hammer Strength machines were everywhere and they all looked beautiful. Designed with pin-point precision, the weight room is laid out for optimal user comfort. When exercise machines are too close in proximity to one another, user-friction builds, as nobody likes to feel the hot breath and grunts from a stranger working out next to them. Whoever designed this gym at the Venetian knew what they were doing. There must be close to $500,000 worth of fitness equipment in there.

Fitness Equipment Shoppers Must Read

Sunday, May 29th, 2011 | buy an elliptical, buy precor online with Comments Off

Gym Fitness Equipment:
Home gyms are great because they have multiple workout stations, which makes it easy to work all of the different muscles on your body. When looking into buying a home gym, one should always take into consideration several factors. First of all, make sure that the home gym equipment that you are looking at is sturdy and not prone to breaking down. Clearly, there is very little that can be accomplished on a home gym that is out of order. Secondly, check out the weight stack on the home gym you are looking at. For example, the Body-Solid 1500s gym has a weight stack of 160 pounds. While that is perfect for many people, some athletes that like to life a lot of weight would prefer maybe a 200lb. weight stack like the BodyCraft Xpress Pro has, or a weight stack that provides up to 400 pounds of resistance, such as the BodyCraft X4. Other features to look for when purchasing strength equipment or home gym equipment is whether or not the home gym is a single, double, triple, or quardruple weight stack. For instance, if there were 20 plates of 10 pund weights on a home gym machine, that would represent a single, 200 pound weight stack. If the home gym is for only one person, then a single stack will be great. On the other hand, if you have a single weight stack gym, then only one person can use it at a time. If you have a workout partner, and the two of you like working out at the same time, you will need a double weight stack gym, and so aon and so forth. Gyms with four weight stacks are typically commercially rated for health club usage, as they normally have thicker and heavier gauge steel framing than weight machines with one or two weight stacks.

Fitness Bikes:

Upright bikes, recumbent bikes, spin cycles and exercise bikes in general have been staples in the fitness and health club industries since the inception of gyms. Exercise bikes are beneficially similar to the elliptical cross trainer in the sense that they reduce the constant pressure applied to your joints from running. Fitness exercise bikes are perfect for the home because they are compact, easy to store and more cost efficient than treadmills and home gyms. Launch your new lifestyle right now by purchasing an exercise bike and using it for 30 minutes or more each time you exercise. One major difference between a recumbent exercise bike and an upright bike is that a recumbent exercise bike has support for your back similar to a chair. Recumbent stationary bikes are designed to assist people with weight loss, fat burning and increasing endurance. There are a wide variety of recumbent exercise bikes including game bikes, with built in video game equipment, and those game bikes have been very popular at schools and knee/hip/joint rehab facilities. Check our huge selection of discounted recumbent stationary bikes to find one that will be your stepping stone towards weight loss and getting your body swimsuit ready.

Upright bikes and spinning bikes are for the serious athlete. They are great because they are portable, come at a much lower cost than most cardio pieces and they are not stressful on your joints and tendon. Upright bikes are very easy to use as well. Most upright bikes are self generating which means that they do not to have to be plugged in. When you get on an exercise bike and start pedaling the power automatically turns on, eliminating messy cords and wires. Spin bikes are made with solid steel constructed framework and are very popular which is underlined by the amount of spin classes at gyms today. Create your own spin class at home starting today by purchasing one of our many Award winning upright exercise cycles and spin bikes

Elliptical Equipment:

Today, the latest and greatest piece of fitness equipment is the Elliptical Cross Trainer, evidenced by its nation-wide popularity. The elliptical fitness equipment is great for your body because it not only provides you with a total body workout that uses all four limbs, but in doing so, your knees, hips and joints are not subjected to constant pressure and pounding like they are when you run on a treadmill or outside. Start getting in shape now with one of our Award winning elliptical fitness equipment that we have in stock including the Precor EFX 576i, Precor EFX 556i, Precor EFX 556, Precor EFX 546, Life Fitness 95xi, Life Fitness 93x, and the Life Fitness 9500 Next Generation Elliptical. Fitness Products:

Every night while watching TV, I see so many ridiculously horrible advertisements for cheap fitness equipment, and it boggles my mind why anyone would ever buy such low-end, flimsy weight or cardio equipment. For example, we have all seen the heavy-duty stair climbers spread across gym floors nationwide, and they all are as tall, or taller than we are, on average that is. In order for the fitness equipment at gyms to be effective, and durable, they must have some weight to them, to prevent instability and ensure safety. However, lately I have seen several cheap, small, and lousy looking stair steppers that according to the infomercials pushing them, are the best thing since sliced bread. Nothing could be further from the truth. In almost every case what looks to good to be true is. Unfortunately, a piece of gym equipment, whether cardio or strength based, can’t be replicated by a company producing “similar” pieces of fitness equipment for 95% less. That is impossible, but not according to these infomercials, which is the reasoning behing us taking the time to write this blog and make potential buyers of exercise equipment all over the world aware so they don’t get ripped of by some 3rd tier home gym supplier.

***Call 800-990-1108 for pricing, information, reviews and shipping lead times for the Precor EFX 556 and all other Precor fitness equipment.***

The Precor EFX 556 elliptical does a phenomenal job assimilating to the natural walking and running motion of its user. Built by one of the worlds most renowned fitness companies, this one of a kind elliptical was designed to give your entire body a head to toe workout, while protecting knees, hips and your body as a whole, from the pains typically associated with running.

These days there are so many different pieces of gym and home fitness equipment, that when talking to a friend or a fitness expert, they most likely are unfamiliar with the exact unit you yourself use at the gym. In other words, when John says to Pete, “I used the CZ 400 Strider at my gym”, Pete will more often than not, have no clue what piece of fitness equipment John is referring to.

That is not the case when one discusses the Precor EFX series 556 cross-trainer. Talk about a hallmark! Can you even think of the elliptical cross-trainer that successfully provided an upper and lower body workout, before the invention of the EFX 556? Of course you can’t…Precor was the first company to ever develop the “Cross-Trainer” and the EFX 556 is its pride and joy. In the literal sense, without exaggerating, Precor created the first gym quality cross-trainers. The Precor EFX 556 model has been so popular with gym members and other fitness experts, that Precor has continued to improve and upgrade the EFX 556 into the EFX 556 V.2, or EFX 556i, or the EEFX 556i Experience series. But, all of the updates and modifications have all been upgrades and changes to the display, user feedback, workout programs and heart rate controls. Precor has not, and they most likely will not, change the original bio-mechanical design that laid the foundation for their elliptical cross-trainers as a whole.

The original “bio-mechanical design” in other words means the way the leg stride feels to the user and the reason it has remained unchanged after all of these years, is because this EFX 556 has done such a fantastic job in replicating the natural smooth, and ergonomically-correct stride of its user.

With its upper body arms, along with multiple workout options and various intensity levels, the Precor EFX 556 makes each workout session new and creative.

In regard to its impermeable steel frame, its structural integrity is comparable to that of a battle ship! That means this cross trainer can be used at top speeds for up to 15 hours per day. Good luck breaking it down.

Through their development of this groundbreaking elliptical, Precor has made themselves one of the most recognized names in the fitness industry today, and that recognition spans across the globe. If you are really serious about losing weight and reducing body fat, then let a Precor elliptical be your weapon against obesity and lethargy.
