Want Healthier Kids? Educate them on the Importance of Exercise!

Our new computer generation of kids has turned to video games and action figures more than any in the past. For some reason these days, kids have really stopped going outside and playing sports. Footbal has been replaced by facebook. Basketball courts have been replaced by the bedroom. The point I am driving at is that todays youth has done less in regard to physical activity, than any previous generation. What will be the result? Will our nation become even lazier and more over weight? Will we start to lose in the Olympics instead of dominate?

What the future of our nation will be remains unknown as always, but the fact that as a country our youth does not exercise as much as it used to, is telling for what is to come in our future. The United States of America is already overwhelmed with obesity beyond belief and the fact that kids and teenagers workout and exercise at minimal rates, adds to the doom and gloom of the situation.

Here is an idea…let’s replace video games and other superfluous electronic devices, with home fitness equipment. Seriously, imagine how much better our country would look and feel if we spend less time amusing ourselves with mind numbing TV and/or video games? Wake up people, it’s time to change, get yourself a freaking treadmill already. Ride a bike. Workout on a rowing machine! Build some muscle, burn some calories and lose some weight! If your health is not optimal, instead of splurging on superfluous goods, buy something with some upside like a home gym. Do something to better your health. 90% of people try and find some easy way to lose weight and get healthy. 100% of them will fail. Success is a journey, not a destination. Your excess weight will not dissapear overnight. Due to the human body being unable to get in shape with the snap of a finger, we need to start exercising when we are young. We need to teach children the importance of health and fitness. Kids need to learn how to use home fitness equipment in a safe and effective way.

Do you gain a pound a month?

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 | fitness tips, fitness training, home gym reveiws with No Comments »

I like your idea of a community blog about getting healthier. So here’s my story. For the past few years I’ve gained about a pound a month. Getting older, this happens–but the math doesn’t look too good. A pound a month for the next 20-30 years? No, really bad idea. So I did two things. Cut white carbs, all of them. White bread, donuts, white potatoes, rice, pasta. I found good substitutes. Yams! Carrots. Quinoa. (A different kind of grain.) And dark chocolot is fine to eat, and now they say it’s good for you. So I’m not missing much. And I used my rower for a half hour every morning. Just one half hour, rowing steady while watching the news. I now lose 2 pounds a month, maybe mostly because of my diet, but I need to keep my skin tight, not flabby, so I add muscles, which weight less. So that’s my story. I swear it will work. Twenty-four pounds a year. Pounds that will stay off.

My Weight Loss Bets

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 | Best Fitness, Exercise Equipment Sale, gym supplies with No Comments »

Today I started training for my latest goal which is to get down to 175 lbs. by January 1st. My name is John. I am 5’10, 195 Lbs. and I have a standing bet for $1000.00 with my girlfriend on whether or not I will be able to lose the weight (20 Lbs.) by the new year. I have already lost 9 pounds and I am down to 186 pounds right now. I get addicted to things easilly and before I even started training, I purchased some home gym equipment, health club quality of course, and some protein shakes, other amino acids, vitamins, and other nutritional supplements. Let me say, the Life Fitness 95Ti Treadmill is a horse! Life Fitness also makes some great elliptical cross-trainers, but I just feel like I get a better workout on the treadmill.

Exercise Equipment

Sunday, September 13th, 2009 | Abdomial Exercise - Stomach Workout, Diabetes & Health, eliptical, Guidelines to Buying Treadmill and Home Gym Equipment, Sleep and Fitness, sports equipment with No Comments »

The recent increase in the amount of people in the United States that purchase fitness equipment for their home is a good sign. Are we finally realizing that happiness is attained through gym equipment rather than designer clothes? We here at Kings of Cardio sure hope so!

Recently in the news, there has been even more coverage focused around heathcare, than the average daily dosage. It is well known that the U.S.A. is the only first world nation on the planet that does not offer a comprehensive, universal healthcare system. The counter argument to that is something in the realm of “well that’s why we have the best doctors.” That argument is flawed to say the least. Our nation is not even in the top 10 when it comes to highest life expectancy rates! Why? One reason is that 9/10 people would be clueless if you asked them what an elliptical is, or what a stair climber is, or what their favorite piece of fitness equipment is. Home gym equipment, gym equipment, sports equipment, or weight equipment is foreign to most people.

Let us give you some advice, if you spend more time eating every day, then you do exercising, then you will be unhealthy and you will not have the rock hard body that you would like to have.  Using gym equipment should not be as difficult as math. Your daily exercise routiner should not have the same level of intensity as one of your study sessions. So get up, get out and get something. Don’t just waste your time away like a fat ass sitting on the couch all day and waiting for something good to happen. You must make it happen through staying true to your fitness routine. Daily exercise, along with personalized fitness goals, will enable you to look and feel like you really want to. How many times in your life have you looked in the mirror and told yourself that you are going to start exercising in some form or another? Aren’t you tired of always just hoping and wishing? Isn’t it time to get something done? Even if you have not done any cardio or strength training in the last 10 years, you can still get in shape. You do not have to start of by running on the treadmill for 2 hours everyday at top notch speeds on the “interval training” propgram. The great thing about exercising is that you are your own boss. If you have not worked out in a very long time, then just get on the treadmill for like 10 minutes and walk at low speeds. Do this everyday until you feel comfortable picking up the pace. The key is to walk a little bit longer and start moving a little bit faster as you progress in your workouts.
